There's one good thing about smog. Strange statement, I know. But smog can make beautiful sunsets. All those particles in the atmosphere can create ethereal, even surreal scenes as the sun goes down.
A painting a day by Michael Sokolis, an artist in Venice, California. Starting November 2006 I'm doing an oil painting daily. See them here, or receive email images by subscribing below. If you'd like to own one, click to bid. For more info read "Small Daily Paintings" or "About Me". Enjoy the views.

Our modern day Monet, our Man of La Mancha, tilting at lifeguard towers, our swami of the sunset, transforming pollution and the dross of everyday LA into radiant amber, manufacturing metaphysical moments through the alchemy of his allegorical oil paints, our finesser of flax seed oil, our Pygmalion of Pigment, our Sokolis!
